2. Apartment groups

During the outreach, all volunteers are divided into apartment groups, each with their own leader. Each apartment group lives together, travels together to group meetings and outreach locations, goes shopping, cooks, eats and cleans together, and everyone in the group shares their experiences with each other.

8. Working together during the outreach

Everyone is part of the Reach Mallorca mission team and each team member is valuable. Even though we have staff members and leaders who have slightly more responsibility than the rest of the team, we still need every single person to reach our goal of touching as many people as possible with God’s love. Reach Mallorca’s main focus is on the outreaches that take us to Ballermann and other locations, even though there is also time for fellowship and leisure activities during the day. That’s why Reach Mallorca is not a holiday, but a mission outreach. This also includes self-catering in the team flats. Everyone is expected to do the shopping, cooking, tidying up, as well as be punctual and help with organising everything.
During the outreach, you’ll probably also have the opportunity to get involved in the following areas:

I.Street theatre: As part of the outreach, team members may get the chance to present the gospel in a creative and personal way through sketches and mimes. You don’t need any acting experience, as the parts played will have different levels of difficulty.

II. Worship: Worship is an essential part of Reach Mallorca, both during our team times together and during outreaches. The different worship teams will be organised and assigned in Mallorca. You
should already have experience in this area. Are you moved by the idea of leading people into God’s
presence? Then sign up for the worship team!

III.+ IV. Sound technology and equipment: As part of the technical team, you will also be working closely with the worship team. If you already have some mixing experience and are up for a new challenge, then the sound team at Reach Mallorca could be just the thing for you. We might also get the chance to set up a stage and technical equipment outside and need hands-on people who know or want to learn how to load a sprinter van properly. Every little helps!

V. Video projector: For the team church meetings, we also need a video projector team to project texts and PowerPoints. No previous experience is required, as everyone will be given instructions on how to use the projector.

VI. Street and beach sermons: The Reach Mallorca outreach also includes larger beach and street
services, sometimes attended by several hundred people. If you feel confident about preaching a short and concise evangelistic message in public in front of lots of people, then you are more than welcome to get involved in this area.

VII. Interpreting during team times: With Reach Mallorca becoming an international outreach in 2023, our team times will be in both German and English. That's why we'll need a team with people who speak both languages fluently and are used to interpreting from the front or, if required, simultaneously. Feel free to tick the box for 8.1!

VIII. Gospel choir: Be part of the legendary Reach Mallorca gospel choir! As a gospel choir, we want to lead the worship time in a cheerful way and get our people to dance along. But we will also invite the people at the Ballermann to sing with us at the beach service. You don't need any previous experience - the only requirement is that you enjoy singing!

9. Other Reach Mallorca outreaches

I want to be part of the Magaluf team during the Reach Mallorca outreach and promote street services and personal evangelization with many other participants of the outreach in the British party-zone „Magaluf“, just as we do at the "Ballermann" in the German party-zone. (important: good or sufficient knowledge of English).

12. Rules to follow

We truly believe that being part of this outreach will change your life and that God wants to use you in a very special way. We will start praying for you even before the outreach begins and will try and support you in your gifts and abilities as best we can. As we want this outreach to be a really special time for you, we have put together a few rules that we feel are necessary to make your time in Mallorca a blessing for you, the rest of the team and especially for the people we want to serve. Please follow the rules below:

1. There may be times during this outreach when you disagree with decisions made by your leaders and see certain situations differently. Especially at such times, please submit to your leader‘s decisions and follow them. Your (small group) leader usually has a few more outreaches under his/her belt than you and has very specific reasons why he/she might sometimes decide differently to you. Besides, leaders are only human and make mistakes like everyone else. Your team functioning as a unit is more important than always making the right decisions. This especially applies to the small groups.

2. During the outreach, we have a rule that no-one should start a relationship with a member of the oppositesex. If you are attracted to someone, please keep it to yourself until the outreach is over and refrain from showing your feelings through your behaviour. If you are already dating, then please put your relationship on hold during the outreach, so you can completely dedicate yourself to your team. By this, we mean refraining from physical contact (holding hands, kissing, etc.) and spending time alone as a couple. The reason for this rule is that we feel it is important for everyone to stay completely focused on God during the outreach and not to awaken desires that, even though they are absolutely healthy and natural, tend to distract people from the goal of the outreach.

3. Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes are a no-go during the outreach.

4. There is nothing that can destroy the atmosphere of an outreach as much as speaking badly about
other people, whether leaders or other team members. Please refrain completely from this kind of talk. If you do not follow these rules, the outreach leadership may send you home at your own expense.

4. For the duration of the outreach, a WhatsApp group will be set up for all outreach participants to enable teams to communicate more easily with each other. 5. As part of the outreach, we will be working together with the “Street Angels” in Mallorca. The Street Angels are a partner organisation that has a heart for bringing drunken partygoers in the British party zone "Magaluf" safely home between 1am and 7am and offering them practical help. Due to the party tourists' high alcohol consumption in Magaluf, this outreach may result in extreme situations. After appropriate training, I permit my child to participate in any Street Angel outreaches in a team of at least three people, of whom at least one person is an adult. *
